And the winners are............

When Sally Field accepted her 2nd Oscar in 1985 the world decided that yes…we really like her!

Thanks to everyone who entered my little giveaway. I'd love to give it to everyone but alas could only have two winners.....

Package 1: CurlyPops
Package 2: Paula from eggshell blue

Congratulations ladies! Your goodies will be popped in the post on Friday. For those who missed out don't fret...I'll be getting together some more packages as I rummage through  all my mess. Moving my studio from one room to another is becoming so darn difficult!

Enjoy your evening.

My new baby

My AMAZING husband set up an early birthday present hunt for me and the girls yesterday (My birthday is on Thursday). He is the king of treasure hunts and makes up the wittiest riddles. This was the treasure....

I burst into tears when I found this little fellow. I lost my Wolfie boy over two years ago and have longed for another little friend to curl up with. Before you ask, Obi is wonderful with him. He just isn't that hot on Obi....understandable considering that he is the size of Obi's ear!
There is no name yet. I'm toying with "Tamino", "Puccini" or "Matisse". But then I also like "Dudley" or "George". I'm awful at choosing names for pets!

I'm so happy. He is just perfect :)

Have a lovely evening all!  And remember, I'll be drawing the winners of my giveaway tomorrow night.

Giveaway time!

Righto. The time has come for me to share my treasures. I have two packs to give away.....The first being this collection of goodies:

Giveaway pack 1

We have:
*A gorgeous Irish linen tea towel featuring a Chrysanthemum pattern in bold gold and orange. Made in Ireland.
*A roll of vintage cotton lace
*An orange, apricot and cream doily
* A vintage mini glass bottle
*A selection of game board cards, perfect for collage work.

Next up we have some children's items:

Giveaway pack 2

This pack includes:
* 2 sweet vintage children's books; "Domino the Spotted Dog" and "The Littlest Angel". Both are beautifully illustrated and have that intoxicating vintage book smell.
* 2 vintage children's decals. The kind you see on old play cots :)
*One of my simpler designed Nursing Necklaces, great for mummies to wear whilst feeding fidgety bubs.

The giveaway is open to anyone and everyone (I've tried restricting it to just followers but only end up with very few numbers). Just leave a comment to specify which pack you would like to receive whether it be one or both. The winners will be announced on Wednesday the 23rd of March, after my rascals are in bed :)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Lovely little bottles that H has dug up from either the back yard or work.

A sweet book

Another sweet book

More sweet books (I could go on with these but I'll stop)
I'm forever finding fantastic goodies out here, especially books. I'm a sucker for vintage children's books as I'm sure many of you are too! I've been quite busy this past week sorting out all of my stuff to move into the new studio (it's FINALLY ready!)
I've set aside some things that I'm going to put towards a giveaway. I have so much and love sharing my finds with other people. We're talking about some good stuff too so stay tuned!

What about you? Any good finds recently?

My current afternoon read

"Naming The Rose" by Roger Mann. A beautiful book that gives an insight into the people who have had roses named after them. It features stunning photographs by Yvonne Arnold (her work is shown above) and  Paul Barden, whose blog I only just discovered today. It's such a lovely read.

There is one special rose that I'm coveting. It isn't featured in the book but it too is named after a very special lady......

Rosa Hybrid Tea (Dolly Parton)

Can you guess who?

It wasn't that hard a question now was it? I love my Dolly!

This song is Haidees favourite :)

"The Sirens Song" and a lazy day

I've finished...Not overly pleased with it however it was great to experiment more with layering of colour washes. It was also lovely to paint on the vintage music sheets that I have had for so long.  Here it is.....
"The Sirens Song" 2011

On a separate note, I'd like to thankyou for all your lovely comments regarding my wins at the show. It was such a wonderful day and the town was all abuzz. My ribbons have given the girls endless joy which makes it all worthwhile.
The weather is looking a tad gloomy this morning which is encouraging me to have a lazy day with my girls, I'm thinking Shirley Temple movies, reading and maybe a bit of sewing. There's also a gallery opening night this evening that I'm considering walking down to later. We'll see :)
Another factor contributing to my laziness is the delish smell emanating from our kitchen. Hubby is making pancakes, something he loves to do on the rare occasion that he is home on weekend mornings. We love pancake breakfasts, they're sticky, messy and glorious!

What are your plans for the weekend?

Rylstone Show 2011

There's something so endearing about our little show. Everyone participates and has so much fun! I'm delegated to hang the knitted section which also happens to be the largest. And goodnes me, the talent in my town! Such beautiful work! The highlight of the show is  the "Jack Russell Race" towards the end of the evening followed by fireworks. I managed to nab a couple of prizes with my jewellery and head bandeau which really pleased the girls. It meant that they could have some ribbons to use with their toy ponies (a very cute game I must say). A ridiculous amount of money was spent on kitsch girly show bags, rides, fairy floss and snow cones however I did manage to buy something for myself too......

And it is scrum-diddely-umptious! Infact, I'm off to have a little bit right now (with some ricotta on toast)

Yummo!
